The username "emilia", which created the listing for Mamas Cafe Baci and then immediately left the above review of this establishment, was registered under the e-mail address tom@italiaamerica.com. That domain is in turn registered to "Bello Giorno" catering, with the contact for that domain being one Tom Schiano whose e-mail address is actually listed as being off of the Mamas & Cafe Baci domain (!). And if you go to italiaamerica.com, the contact link goes to an address at warrencountycatering.com, which in turn goes to the website for Bello Giorno - which is identified as being run by the Schiano Family and then lists Mama's Cafe Baci on its home page as its "sister restaurant". The bottom line: this "review" by "emilia" appears to be a fake positive review by the establishment itself, there was no "husband and I" who "have been all over warren county....but mam's is our new favorite", etc., etc. -- and our site visitors and community members should be guided accordingly.

Our site CLEARLY publishes our guidelines to restaurateurs, specifically stating among other things: "Please do not come into our community and rate and review your own establishment, and/or try to use our site's ratings & reviews functions as a promotional tool or PR vehicle. It is an offense to our community, in that it dilutes the value of our community members' impartial ratings & reviews and openly insults the intelligence of our members and visitors. If you are tempted to post a fake review of your own establishment as though you are an impartial and unbiased patron, please stop and first consider the potential negative reflection upon your establishment, weighing the perceived benefits of a fake review against its potential ramifications and the resulting perception of your establishment in the eyes of our site visitors and members." Nonetheless, from time to time, we still have establishments who come into our community here and leave a glowing "review" for themselves, posing as an impartial patron. We will remain vigilant in pointing out such activities to the members of our community and our site visitors.

I like this site and am happy to be a member of this community. I read this person's review a little while ago. I saw that it gave 5 stars in all 4 categories. And I read the glowing "Pros". Now I see that after your comment, this person has dropped it's rating to 5 stars in one category to 4 stars in the other 3 categories?? And the promotional stuff is gone. IF this was a legit review in the first place, there is no reason why this person would have done that. Thank you for pointing this BS out to us! Big thumbs down to Soured Steakhouse for coming into our community and pulling this BS.

ADVISORY TO SITE VISITORS & NJRESTAURANTS.COM COMMUNITY MEMBERS: The user who entered this listing is using as his avatar the logo of the very restaurant which he has listed and reviewed. In addition, the "review" reads more like promotional copy for the establishment than an unbiased and true review. As a result, and to verify the impartiality of this review, we telephoned the restaurant and asked for the user by the name he used to register here in our community: we were told that said person was "not in right now". Therefore, it appears to us that this user has some connection to this restaurant and that the impartiality of this review is questionable. Consequently, visitors and community members are advised to be guided accordingly in considered this restaurant's rating and this review.

We hereby ask user mattg712 to comment in this thread to clarify the exact nature of his relationship to the restaurant which he listed, and then reviewed, here. Thank you.

More of this bs?? Site management, you have to do something about these restaurants rating themselves, it dilutes the value of the site and its reviews.

Owner's wife maybe? Or maybe the owner themselves?

Visitors, please take note: this 5-star rating in all categories was left BY the restaurant itself, FOR itself. Be guided accordingly.

Akiko, thanks for your review, but...the e-mail address that you used to register on this site is from the domain of the law office of one of the owners of this restaurant. And in fact, he is the one who actually entered the listing for Yakitori 39 on this site, around 15 hours ago. This could suggest that your review is somewhat less than impartial, so could you please disclose to the other readers of this review your apparent connection and remove any question in reader's minds? Thanks!
